Ear muffs or Ear defenders, are designed to protect young children from noise-induced hearing loss. They are also useful for children with autism who may be sensitive to certain noises.

The protection provided by ear defenders is mostly due to the cup part. This foam increases air resistance, absorbs the sounds waves and thereby reduces the amplitude of the waves that enter the ear.

Blocks out potentially damaging external noises by completely covering the outer ear with a noise reduction rating of 27dB.
